TemperatureWise vs Checkit: a posted monitor, or a managed platform

Checkit is a connected operations company. Digital checklists, a handheld if you want one, and a wireless sensor network they install and look after. Temperature monitoring is one piece of that platform, sold on a contract, not a shop price.
TemperatureWise is a temperature monitoring system. You buy the sensors. You pay $250 per sensor per year. Texts, phone calls and machine-learning detection sit in that number. There is no 36 month minimum on the page.
If you need the checklists, you can run both. Buy Checkit for the work. Use TemperatureWise for the boxes. That is the same split we make against Jolt, and it is the honest one.
What Checkit gets right as a managed service
In the refrigeration forums, Checkit shows up as a company that comes to you:

Three things that recommendation is pointing at.
They install it. Sensors, a hub, repeaters if the signal is poor. Sense needs your Wi-Fi or Ethernet. SenseFlex adds a cellular path so the site does not have to give them a network. You are not pairing gadgets on a Saturday.
The subscription is meant to swallow the ugly line items. Their Peace of Mind model, on the published datasheets, puts initial hardware, ongoing calibration, support and swap-outs into a regular fee. ISO 17025 calibration is available. Sensors are written to store a reading every 5 minutes. Premium monitoring adds a staffed alarm calling centre that phones the keyholder list, with a published target of starting that call within five minutes of the alarm.
Work management is a real product, not a bolted-on log. Digital checklists, scheduled tasks, a Bluetooth probe for a line check, photos, a hygienic handheld they call Memo. Automated monitoring and work management are listed as separate platform pieces. You can buy the app without the 24/7 sensors, which is the door for running TemperatureWise next to it.
Checkit locks the term at 36 or 48 months
This belongs in its own section because it changes what "how much" means.
Checkit's published terms say licences are per active device. Payment is annually in advance. Monthly and quarterly billing cost extra.
The minimum term is 36 or 48 months. Shorter is only at extra cost. Prices sit on a quote, not on a page. Subscription fees can rise each anniversary with an index.
That is a managed-service contract. It is honest about being one. It is also why a 40-seat operator who wanted a probe and a phone call ends up in a procurement loop.
TemperatureWise is $250 per sensor per year, posted. Hardware is yours. Adding a box is adding a sensor, not reopening a 48 month agreement.

Checkit is an operations suite with a monitoring contract, not a temperature monitoring system
This is the same axis as the Jolt comparison, with a harder lock-in.
Jolt is checklists, labels and shift plans, with temperature as a module. Checkit is checklists plus a sensor estate they own for the term, plus an optional room of people who phone you. Search "Checkit alternatives" and you will get other operations platforms. You will not get a specialist asking whether the sensor can see a dying compressor.
TemperatureWise does one job. A proprietary mix of machine learning on the full temperature history, not just the current reading. Phone calls that keep going. A fleet view. NIST-traceable calibration on request. No labels, no opening checks, no handheld.
You can run both. Keep Checkit for the work management app and the line-check probes. Use TemperatureWise on the walk-ins, the reach-ins and the freezer Checkit's calling centre is not watching as a pattern. Two logins is real friction. A 48 month sensor contract for a job a $25 sensor can do is the other friction.

Where TemperatureWise falls short in this match-up
We do not do checklists, opening checks, labelling or a kitchen handheld. If that is the job, Checkit is the product and we are not. Same concession as Jolt, and it is not a gap we are pretending to close.
We do not staff a calling centre. TemperatureWise calls your people until one of them picks up. Checkit's premium tier has a human who works down your list. If the reason you buy monitoring is that nobody on the night crew will answer an automated call, their centre is the better design.
They swap and calibrate as part of the fee. Peace of Mind is built so you are not tracking certificate dates. We offer NIST-traceable calibration. We do not pretend it is bundled into every sensor the way a managed contract bundles it.
