A direct-to-home frozen smoothie brand used two refrigeration systems to serve a 2,000 sq. ft. walk-in at its Philadelphia distribution center. The room held about $450,000 in frozen inventory.
TemperatureWise communicated the first developing issue on June 10, 2025, while the freezer was still cycling near 6.8°F / -14°C. By July, service work identified a refrigerant leak along with a broken fan blade, motor and bracket across the two systems.
Separate faults reduced available cooling capacity while aging equipment made the final repair dependent on hard-to-find parts.
